Our Paddle Canada Basic SUP Course is the perfect way to get into the world of Paddleboarding!
This course will cover all the basics including mounting your board, teaching and refining SUP Strokes, proper falling techniques, prone paddling, information on gear, understanding weather and safety conditions and more!

What to Bring
- Dress in wet gear suitable for the water and weather!
- Something to secure your shades so they don’t fall in and sink!
- Sunscreen, sunglasses & hats, are all recommended for sunny days!

- Change of clothes

- Photo ID
- Don’t forget your Cameras!
*If you select the Course Only option, you must bring your own SUP Board, Paddle, PFD and Coast Guard Safety Kit as well.
How It Works
We start our day by meeting up at the South Kingsway Boat launch (directions down below) and begin our orientation. After the knowledge section of the course is complete, it’s time to get our equipment together and begin our on-water section. We warm up with a leisurely paddle south to the mouth of the river and into Lake Ontario. We’ll paddle east into the protected waters inside the break wall and Sunnyside Beach. While inside the break wall we will practice the techniques in the orientation as well as proper falling and remounting techniques. We’ll take a quick break at the beach before we get back on the water for our final skills assessment. At the end of the day, we will return to the South Kingsway Boat launch for dismissal.

Important Information
- Participants must be 13 and older. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian arrive for orientation to complete the paperwork (e.g. waiver).

- The course is subject to weather and other factors out of our control. If we must cancel or delay a course we will let you know as soon as possible.
- FOR FALL COURSES: WETSUIT or other COLD WEATHER SUBMERSION CLOTHING is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We will be capsizing and getting into the water.
